Triple H debued in the wwf as Hunter Hurst Helmsly, a Greenich snob. He won the Intercontinental championship from Marc Mero on 21st October 1996. After Summer Slam of the same year, Triple H, Shawn Michals and Chyna founded Degeneration X. Michals lost the WWF championship at Wrestlemaina 14, and HHH took leadership, introducing his friends X-pac, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn.
HHH won the intercontintal championship in a ladders match at Summer Slam 1998 from the leader of the Nation of Domination, the Rock. He soon forfeited the title due to a knee injury. At Wrestlemania XV, Triple H cost his best friend X-Pac the European title to the Boy Wonder Shane O' Mac, to join the Corperation. He recived a push over the next four months, at Fully Loaded, he won a Fully Loaded Leather Strap match to become te WWF number one contender. At Summer Slam 1999, he and lost a triple threat match for the WWF title against Mankind and WWF champion and now ally, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
But the next night on Raw, The Game pinned Mankind to win his first WWF championship reign! In his fued with the owner, HHH lost the title to none other than Vincent K. Mc Mahon Junior less than a month later, but Vince forfieted to the Game the title to run the company. Triple H lost the title to the Big Show in a triple threat match with the rock at Survivor Series, which was when Rikishi ran down Stone Cold under Triple H's instruction, Triple H reformed DX to help his war with Vince Mac Mahon. Before Armaggeddon 1999, Triple H broke up Stef's wedding with test, anouncing he was married to her. This ment Vince and HHH would fight at the PPV for Steph. Not suprisingly, Hunter won, and the marrage was legit!
Vince and Shane dissapeared from the WWF for a while, and the newlyweds ran things. In January, The Game won a 6 pack challenge match to win the WWF championship again. He defeated Cactus Jack in a brutal Hell in a Cell match forcing him and all Faces of Foley to retire. Hunter kept his title at the Wrestlemania 2000 Main Event Fatal Four Way against the Rock, Big Show and Mick Foley, the Mac Mahon's were once again a big happy family. Well, as happy familieish as they get. He lost his title to the Rock at Backlash, but won it again in a sixty minute Iron Man Match with special Ref, Shawn Michals.
But he unfortunatly lost the title to the Rock in King Of the Ring's Six Man Tag, with Vince being pinned by the Rock. Kurt Angle seemedto put one of his Is aside, going after Stephanie (can you blame him?), and Triple H got some face heat. The Rock was thrown in the middle of the fued when he kept his WWF title in a triple threat match between the three at Summer Slam 2000. But the revelation that Rikishi ran over Stone Cold before Unforgiven, and the fact that Triple H told him to emerging after the PPV, the stage was set for Triple H vs Stone Cold Steve Austin at Suvivor Series. The Game was dropped 40 feet in a car and was out for nearly a month. But he returned before Armaggedon, and on his wedding anniversary, it was announced that he would be in a six man hell in a cell match for the WWF title.
He was injured in the match, which Kurt Angle won, and was out until just before the Royal Rumble. He took on Kurt Angle on the day Austin won the Rumble, after screwing the game out of the title. The Game and Austin took part in a 2 of 3 falls match (single, street fight, cage), wich Hunter won. Triple H's new fued with the Undertaker lead to a WM X7 match which HHH laid down in the 'Taker's last WM. But in the main event, Vince sold his soul to satan, as Vince helped the Rattlesnake win the WWF title. On Raw, Triple H and Austin teamed up in their fued with the Brother's of Destruction, and at Backlash, they will fight for the tag, IC and WWF titles, which if Stone Cold and HHH win, HHH gets a grand slam, having won the IC title twice again in less than 2 weeks.
